COACHES CHECK-IN AND HOSPITALITY
CHECK-IN
Upon arrival, please go to team check-in. If you have any changes to your numbers please let them know at that time especially if it affects your division. You will receive wrist bands for registered coaches at this time as well. This will give you access to the warm up room and gym. Recreational team coaches will need to submit required waivers at this time. Link to Recreational Participant Waiver below.
TEAM AREA
After you check in, a BHS cheerleader will guide you and your team to your designated area. Teams will have this space to keep their items and be a team space.
COACHES ROOM
We do provide a room for coaches to come take a break, relax, grab a snack and mingle with other coaches. We will be providing a live stream of the competition in this room as well.
WARM UP ROOM & MUSIC
WARMUP ROOM
Only dressed cheerleaders & coaches with wrist bands will be allowed in the warmup room. Wrist bands will be given to registered* coaches at team check-in. All registered coaches must be background checked by their programs administration.
Only teams during their designated times will be allowed in warm up area. Warmups can be stressful enough, so we try to provide as much privacy and less distraction to ease the already high stress level. During warmups please also be mindful and respectful of others warming up their teams. Playing your own music and loud props will be restricted until your full mat warm up time.
WARMUP TIMING
For warmups, you will have a check-in time 5 minutes before your warmup time. This will be located near team check-in.
Warmups will be the following:
5 min tumbling warmup
5 min stunting warmup
5 min hold
5 min full 9 panel floor with music
*Please let parents know only coaches (with wrist bands given at check-in) and cheerleaders in uniform will be allowed in the team areas. These areas will include athlete locker rooms, training room, warm up room, and all team holding areas.
MUSIC
Please bring your team's music on your phone to plug into our system. iPhone is preferred and an adapter will be available in the warmup room. Any other adapters, coaches will need to provide.
ATHLETIC TRAINER
If needed, our athletic trainer will be located close by, in the holding area of the main gym. Please bring your own tape / pre-wrap if athletes need to be wrapped.

Reminders For All Cheer Coaches:
Hands-on WIAA stunt certification is required for cheer coaches who intend to have their cheer squad perform stunts. These stunt certification clinics run for two hours and will be hosted in person. Coaches must be recertified every two (2) years. A current certified coach must be present in order for a team to stunt. Click here to register!
Competition dates and resources have been updated on the WSCCA website.
Rec. Coaches Updates:
Coaches for teams who decide to compete in WA regional competitions are now required to have and provide proof of a USA Cheer Membership (Professional or Cheer Coach Membership). This is to ensure that coaches who are outside of our schools are meeting the screening clearances and training for our sport. A membership is required for each coach that plans on following the team through warm-ups and team areas.
Note: if your team attended a Varsity affiliated camp you may already have a membership!
The WSCCA Junior State Championships is set for SUNDAY, January 21, 2024, at Tahoma High School. Registration is open!
